We understand the challenge of offering responsible convenience; after all, shipping perishable goods is a materials-intensive task.
Our team spent a tremendous amount of time and energy developing a packaging system where each component is recyclable, reusable, or compostable. It’s an ongoing process, but we’ve made progress that we’re proud of—and things are only getting better.
We have a few initiatives in the works: one involves reducing the materials that we use in our packaging. It is a challenge because we have to keep the fresh produce cool, but a challenge that we are tackling in our lab. In the meantime, most of our boxes and components are made of recyclable materials, and plant-based dyes are used where possible. These can be recycled with most curbside programs. You can learn more about our packaging here.
We are also working on making all of Pack materials, which are currently recyclable, compostable. Currently, the Juicero Packs are made of plastic film, and can be recycled at any recycling drop-off that accepts plastic bags (i.e. local grocery stores). You can also send them back to us for recycling if you prefer. Learn more about this program here.
